Sterile, transparent amorphous gel with a high water content, suitable for the removal of necrotic tissue. The gel creates a moist wound environment, preventing eschar formation and encouraging healing. By keeping fragile granulation tissue moist, the gel helps to create a moist wound healing environment, allowing the migration of epithelializing cells.
Hydromed Gel is primarily intended for the treatment of necrotic and sloughy wounds, e.g. leg ulcers, pressure ulcers and non-infected diabetic foot ulcers.
Hydromed Gel may also be used on 1st and 2nd degree burns.
The gel may be used throughout the healing process to provide a moist wound healing environment in all types of wounds.
