Sterile non-adhesive Non-Woven Fabric dressing, consisting of pure, highly absorbent and conformable sodium Carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) fibers and two-dimensional CMC reinforcement fibers. It absorbs exudate upwards and does not allow it to spread to the sides. It does not release exudate on the wound bed. It can be cut without altering its liquid absorption and handling capabilities. Does not laminate or deform after absorption of liquids; It can be removed in one piece, without the need for irrigation, without the risk of fiber release.
The dressing has a resistance to wet breakage increased by at least 9 times compared to Eurocell hydro.
Once the wound exudate is absorbed, Carboxymethylcellulose instantly forms a biocompatible soft gel that helps maintain a moist environment that promotes the wound healing process and facilitates the removal of devitalized tissue, without damaging the newly formed tissue.
Eurocell Hydro Extra avoids maceration of the periwound skin under compression.

To be used for the management of acute and chronic, partial and full-thickness, moderately to heavily exuding wounds, they control minor bleeding in superficial wounds.
Eurocell Hydro Extra can be used on the following wounds:
- Leg ulcers, pressure ulcers (stage II-IV) and diabetic foot ulcers.
- Surgical wounds (e.g. post-operative, wounds left to heal by second intention and areas of skin harvesting).
- Partial thickness burns.
- Traumatic wounds (e.g. abrasions and lacerations).
- Absorption of exudate in oncological ulcers (vegetating skin tumors, skin metastases and Kaposi’s sarcomas).
Other intended uses include the treatment of cavity wounds and superficial burns. The dressings can be used under compression bandages. Eurocell Hydro Extra is Latex free and Phthalate free.
